Greetings from all of us
by Krissy Foreman
We wish you all a warm beginning of December! It is even almost the end of the year too, oh how time flies! We also have a few announcements we would like to make.
First, we are all so grateful for the Deaf community's donations and diverse efforts for the Save Thompson Hall Project. At this current moment, we have 40 people who have donated to the project! Some of the donations have come from as far away as the state of Washington who found us on Facebook. We are absolutely thrilled how wide this is starting to spread and would love for our dear readers to spread it further by word of hands!

Darlene gave a brief overview of Development's progress. The Development Workgroup's tasks include grant writing, fund development plans, fiscal plans and messaging:
Two important meetings took place in September 2018 with Fox Advancement and Propel Nonprofits. The purpose of the meeting with Fox Advancement is to review the work they provided for us. Fox researched and identified potential grants. We learned that this will be a challenge because there are not many available grants that fit our needs. We will have to develop better messaging of what is Thompson Hall. We need to build strong relationships with funders and other organizations. We also need to cultivate potential donors. We will need to build a long-term strategy for fund development.

Elevator and Restoration Report by Herman Fuechtmann
We have been in several productive discussions face to face and by email with our architect, Gregg Hackett and our historical consultant, Todd Grover from MacDonald and Mack Architects (MMA) on making modifications and updates to the preliminary elevator schematic design that was presented at the Community Forums last February.
The elevator is now a pass through meaning the doors are opposite each other. The new elevator lobby entry from the rear parking lot will be named Ground Floor (Parking Lot) and it will open on the opposite side of the building’s main elevator doors. There will be 3 levels that the elevators will go to, Lower Level (Basement), 1st Floor (Dining Room), 2nd Floor (Auditorium).

History of Newsletter "Letterhead"
by Herman Fuechtmann and Richard Taylor
Starting in 1957 there was no logo or anything for TH Newsletter. Just a typewritten heading at the top saying
Thompson Hall Newsletter.
April 1963 was the first to have a picture and heading at the top of front page. They made some changes every month for a few months. Here is the first one:
